Concert Attire

Formal concert attire for each of the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon's two ensembles is outlined below.  Musicians and families should be aware that concert attire requirements for Youth Orchestra musicians are not the same as concert attire requirements for musicians in the Youth Symphony.

Musicians are members of a team. The formal concert attire for each ensemble (team) is designed to present a uniform/unified appearance that helps the audience focus its attention on each ensemble as a whole and the music being performed rather than on individual musicians.

All attire should be wrinkle-free or neatly pressed. Musicians in violation of the dress code will be instructed to contact a parent to ask for appropriate concert dress prior to concert time.  The musician may receive communication concerning issues related to YSSO concert attire.  If a musician is not in compliance by the next performance, the musician may not be allowed to perform with the ensemble. If a musician borrows an item from the YSSO (a tie, for example) the musicians is responsible for returning the item immediately after the performance.
